BBright and SGT winners of the 2025 SATIS Award for their MetaUHD project

We are proud to announce that BBright and SGT, sister companies within the Hexaglobe Group, have been awarded the 2025 SATIS Award in the Future and R&D category for their MetaUHD project: a major step forward in redefining linear television through metadata innovation.

The MetaUHD project: Restoring the art of linear TV with metadata

The MetaUHD project aims to preserve the creative intent and technical quality of broadcast content, from post-production to the viewer’s screen. Supported by the CNC, this R&D initiative brought together BBright’s next-generation Playout server and SGT’s VEDA Automation system to build a complete UHD broadcast chain ready for HDR, Dolby Vision, and next-generation audio (NGA) workflows.

While streaming platforms have long leveraged dynamic HDR and object-based audio, linear TV has struggled to follow. MetaUHD changes that. By adopting the SMPTE ST 2110-41 standard for real-time transport of dynamic metadata, BBright and SGT have enabled the same level of visual and audio precision in live broadcast that was previously exclusive to VOD workflows.

This joint development allows the seamless coexistence of standard and premium content, from static HDR and stereo audio to full Dolby Vision + Dolby Atmos experiences, all within the same playlist.

After winning the Product of the Year award at NAB Show 2025 in the Asset Management & Playout category, this new recognition at SATIS confirms BBright and SGT’s commitment to pushing broadcast innovation further and making linear television every bit as rich, immersive, and dynamic as the best streaming experiences.
