BBright showcases ST 2110 playout workflow for HDR, immersive audio and subtitles

BBright will use IBC 2026 to showcase “One Stream For The World”, a broadcast-grade ST 2110 playout workflow designed to deliver multiple video, audio and subtitle versions from a single synchronized source.

The platform combines UHD video with time-aligned HDR metadata, immersive audio metadata, up to 64 stereo audio services and up to 32 subtitle languages. It is aimed at broadcasters, global streaming platforms and premium video environments that need to manage multilingual, accessible and region-specific services without duplicating complete playout chains.

At the core of the workflow is SMPTE ST 2110-41, used to transport synchronized metadata including ISXD for Dolby Vision and S-ADM for next-generation audio applications such as Dolby Atmos, Dolby AC-4 and MPEG-H. The ISXD workflow allows one UHD playout source to support downstream Dolby Vision, HDR10 and SDR services.

BBright also uses SMPTE ST 2110-43 to carry TTML subtitles as synchronized data flows. By integrating subtitles into the main IP playout architecture, the system allows localization and accessibility services to remain aligned with the primary video and audio content.

“One Stream For The World is about managing the complete service, not simply playing a video file,” said Guillaume Arthuis, founder and managing director of BBright. “The picture, HDR rendering, immersive audio, interpreted languages and subtitles all need to remain synchronized. A single structured workflow can then serve different screens, encoders, regions and audiences without duplicating the entire playout chain.”

According to BBright, the approach has already reduced the number of parallel SDR and HDR playout chains required by at least 50% in a deployment for a global tier-one OTT events platform.
