BBright expands Decoder v3.0 into an IP live reception platform

BBright will use IBC 2026 to showcase Decoder v3.0, the latest release of its high-density broadcast decoder, now positioned as a complete IP live reception platform for contribution, cloud reception and all-IP production environments.

The new version brings together live feed reception, decoding, audio adaptation, monitoring and third-party control in a single platform. It is designed to help broadcasters receive heterogeneous live feeds from managed networks, public internet paths, cloud platforms, software encoders and traditional contribution systems, while adapting them to SDI, Transport Stream or SMPTE ST 2110 production environments.

Decoder v3.0 supports MPEG-2, H.264, HEVC and JPEG XS, including VSF TR-07 workflows. JPEG XS reception extends the platform to visually lossless contribution and production applications where image quality, bandwidth and latency must be carefully balanced. IP transport support includes SRT and RIST, enabling operators to receive reliable live feeds across hybrid broadcast infrastructures.

One of the key additions in Decoder v3.0 is advanced audio shuffling. Incoming services may carry different channel orders, language versions, commentary layouts or immersive audio configurations. Audio channels can be reorganised directly within the decoder before entering the production or distribution chain, reducing the need for additional routing or processing stages.

“Receiving a live feed is no longer simply about decoding the picture,” said Guillaume Arthuis, founder and managing director of BBright. “Operators need to understand transport quality, verify audio and metadata, adapt the signal to their facility and integrate it into their wider control environment. Decoder v3.0 brings those functions together at the point of reception.”

Integrated monitoring includes video thumbnails, audio monitoring, bitrate graphs, ETR 290 alarms, SRT and RIST statistics, metadata visibility and SCTE-35 detection. The platform can process up to eight Full HD channels in a single unit and can be controlled through BBright’s web interface, REST API and presets, with third-party integration available for EVS Cerebrum and Skyline DataMiner.
