BBright IP Gateway Expands Live IP Transport Flexibility For Contribution And Distribution

At IBC 2026, BBright will showcase an expanded IP-Gateway designed to help operators manage the growing diversity of live media transport protocols used across contribution and primary distribution networks.

Building on its existing support for MPEG Transport Stream over IP with SMPTE ST 2022-7 and SRT, the platform now adds support for all RIST profiles. This extended protocol portfolio allows operators to select the most appropriate transport technology for each transmitting or receiving site, depending on network conditions, redundancy requirements, existing infrastructure and operational constraints.

Rather than imposing a single protocol across the entire network, the BBright IP-Gateway provides a common platform that can adapt to different endpoints while maintaining a consistent operational environment across the full workflow.

This flexibility is particularly relevant for live event contribution, connecting venues and remote production sites to central or cloud facilities, as well as for primary distribution applications, including complementing or replacing permanent satellite links with reliable IP-based delivery.

Beyond transport and protocol management, the platform provides operator-oriented content monitoring, not just network supervision. Live video thumbnails, audio meters, ETR 290 alarms, bitrate graphs, service information and detailed SRT and RIST statistics give operators a clear view of both the transport layer and the actual services being delivered. This allows teams to quickly confirm that content is present, correctly received and aligned with service expectations, while also identifying network or protocol-related issues from the same interface.

Configuration, control, status and telemetry are also exposed through an open REST API, allowing the IP-Gateway to integrate into broader orchestration, automation and supervision workflows.

Available as a dedicated appliance, a virtual machine for private cloud environments or any public cloud, the BBright IP-Gateway can be deployed consistently from small edge sites to high-density central hubs, supporting, depending on configuration, up to 120 incoming streams and up to 10 Gbit/s aggregated throughput for high-density contribution and distribution environments.

Every contribution or distribution site has different network, redundancy and interoperability constraints,” said Lénaïck Boivin, Chief Sales Officer at BBright. “Our IP-Gateway allows operators to use the right protocol at each endpoint, while preserving unified monitoring, control and integration across the complete infrastructure.

BBright, part of Hexaglobe Group, will exhibit at IBC 2026 on stand 2.B51.
