BBright Supports Dolby AC-4 on its UHD-Decode.

BBright, the French specialists in advanced video technologies for broadcasters, IPTV/network operators and content owners, has co-worked with Dolby Laboratories to develop the most advanced audio features from its 4K/UHD decoder.

BBright UHD Decode

UHD-Decode now supports Dolby AC-4 in pass-through mode, as a first step, as well as all other Dolby audio formats, including Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby Digital and Dolby E. Such audio features position the UHD-Decode as a unique HEVC, AVC, MPEG decoder in the 4K/UHD market.

Other developments include compatibility with HDR streams (HLG or PQ/HDR10) with adequate HDR signalization. Video input resolution can be upscaled or downscaled, in real-time, to match the desired video output resolution. Quad 3G-SDI outputs come as standard, with HDMI 2.0b and 12G-SDI being an option.

“BBright UHD-Decode becomes more than ever a versatile and multi-function software-based video decoder allowing quick field upgrades at no hardware cost. Being used by Tier 1 service providers on major sports events in 2018, this product is equally suitable for lab work and tests of pioneering audio technologies such as provided by Dolby AC-4 and ATMOS. We are delighted and thankful to keep collaborating with a world leading technological partner such as Dolby Laboratories on their new generation audio solution,” said Laurent Appercel, BBright Marketing Director.
