BBright and GlobalM have successfully demonstrated full interoperability across a complete Ultra HD contribution chain in the cloud, achieving transmission bitrates exceeding 100 Mbps, a level surpassing typical satellite contribution paths.
In this joint technical trial, BBright’s Ultra HD ST 2110 encoder provided an uncompressed IP input and encoded it into HEVC 4:2:2 10-bit with the highest quality profile. The encoded stream was then transmitted using SRT to the AWS cloud, where GlobalM’s cloud transport platform ensured secure routing, contribution monitoring, and signal integrity throughout the end-to-end workflow.
At the output, GlobalM re-streamed the Ultra HD signal over SRT to a BBright decoder, which reconstructed the feed as an ST 2110 output, closing the loop with precise format consistency and latency control. The result confirms the ability of both systems to operate seamlessly in an IP-native, cloud-based Ultra HD environment, ensuring broadcast-grade reliability and performance.
This joint interoperability is already opening new opportunities for customers seeking to deliver premium Ultra HD live sports coverage over IP and cloud networks. For example, broadcasters and production service providers can now deploy BBright’s reliable ST 2110 encoding and decoding solutions in combination with GlobalM’s secure cloud transport platform to distribute live events, from smaller regional leagues to tier-one international competitions, with pristine 4K HDR quality. This combined solution enables rights holders and service providers to scale contribution workflows flexibly, ensuring broadcast-grade performance while reducing operational complexity and costs compared to traditional satellite or dedicated fiber infrastructures.
Guillaume Arthuis, Managing Director of BBright, said: “This end-to-end interoperability with GlobalM demonstrates the strength of ST 2110 and HEVC 4:2:2 workflows for high-bitrate Ultra HD contribution. It shows that IP-based encoding and cloud transport can now match, and even exceed, traditional satellite links in terms of visual quality, latency, and flexibility.”
George Bery, Global Sales Manager of GlobalM, added: “Partnering with BBright illustrates how broadcast-quality encoding and professional cloud contribution can converge. This collaboration validates a new generation of interoperable, IP-based workflows capable of transporting Ultra HD content securely and efficiently in the cloud.”
This demonstration underscores the technological alignment between BBright and GlobalM, confirming their commitment to open standards, cloud interoperability, and high-performance IP contribution workflows for live broadcast and production environments.
